I have a small salt water tank with no large organisms in it right now. The tank is 10g with 10lbs of live rock and Sand from Fiji. There is proper filtration and I have enough light to turn this into a nano-reef if desired. The tank has also been cycled and has been up for over 4 months.
I have heavy algea growing in it so I am most likely going to add some shrimp and crabs but I wanted to get some ideas.
Also, there is probably about a few hundred little shrimp in the tank that came with the sand. I would prefer not to house something that will eat them up.

i have researched ge refrigerators and some say with smartwater filter and some dont. but when you look at the pictures both have the filter inside in the top right corner. does anyone have any clue i have tried looking on the ge website and nothing. i have even went to appliance stores and even the sales people dont know.

i was wondering about the omnihousewatersystem house filter we just moved where our water is from a well right now the water smells so bad coming out of the taps i can barely shower i wont even do my dishes in it i noticed outside attached to the well there are two cylinders that say omni house but there is no filter inside them and they have brown algae looking stuff in them i was wondering where to get filters how much they cost and if that filtration system is meant for wells

I want to make sure we dont have to worry about what we eat and drink at this resort.

I’ve finally fixed the water pressure problem by replacing the self tapping valve with a normal valve, but water still leaks from the filter housing when the dispenser is activated. So basically anytime I fill a glass with water or water is periodically filled into the ice dispenser, a good bit leaks from the side of the filter into the fridge. I couldn’t possibly put any more teflon tape on it and the seal seems tight. What’s wrong? Its a Pure Source brand filtration system.

I work for a bottled water company which also installs filtration systems ranging from whole-house systems and point-of-entry to point of use to undercounter units. A customer recently asked about a whole-house system which would be located underground between his home and the city water main, however, even on a Web search we’ve been unable to find anything like this, and our operations manager cannot recall seeing anything that meets these specifications at any of the trade shows or training sessions he has attended. Is there anyone out there who either has a system like this or works with systems like these, and could point me in the right direction? The man actually said his neighbor has one…but we think he may be mistaken as to what his neighbor has.

I have 2 African Clawed Dwarf frogs, a Betta, And an apple snail. They are housed in a ten gallon tank with out any filtration, air pumps heaters, etc… The tank is kept at a constant 74F and is divided 2/5 gallon ratio (I am keeping the water level at 7 gallons). The frogs are 3-5" long and are not normally too jumpy.

I live in Western New York and have well water. When I bought the house, they said that it was "potable". We have a UV light system for filtration along with a water softner. But for my own peace of mind, I want to test it, to see if there is anything wrong with it. Where can I have this done? Are there kits, does it have to be mailed out?? Any information would be greatly appreaciated.

The system runs about 9/mo for 60 months. I just saw the demo and was amazed at how bad my water was according to the "tests" performed by the sales rep right in front of my eyes. He also did a cost analysis based on an estimate of what I spend for cleaning products and energy consumption and everything else involved and he showed me that by buying this system I can actually save more money than by NOT buying it. The numbers were right there so all I have to do is call and get it installed in my house. Should I do it? Does anyone know anything about these systems? Are there any problems with them? Help…
The system works by passing the raw water through a filter containing resin beads that attract the contaminants. These contaminants are then flushed out at a later time when the sensors detect that enough contaminants have been removed and the system needs to be cleaned.

Not sure if I should get an atmospheric water generator, or a unit that plugs into the home "tap" supply of poisoned water to filter it. Looking for answers from pros, and or people with existing units.

I am in the market for either a water softner or a whole house filtration system. My question is two fold, does one have any particulay benefit over the other in terms of purification or are they basically the same but just filter by different means?
I am very satisfied with the how a softner makes my water feel, but am discouraged by its taste, and as I am VERY limited on space, I was considering a 3 stage whole house filtration system, but am not sure if I will get the same results. I want what works best. Will I still get the same benefits of a water softner with a filtration system?

The stain looks like an oil slick in a parking lot. The water didn’t smell or taste funny. There was a huge water filtration system (like 6 ft. tall) but I don’t think it was on.

Does anybody know what would cause this?

And will the filtration system fix the water?

I went to Sears and they had individual reverse-osmosis filters for under your kitchen sink that go for -300 that take filters changes every 6 months or else they’ve got a central water whole home filtration system that costs 0 but is self-cleaning, does the whole house, and doesnt need changing for over 10 years. I want to have water be drinkable in the house and don’t mind it just coming from the kitchen. But I could see my family and I flaking on changing the filters. But I’m guessing just one at the sink would taste better than one for the entire house. I am looking into getting a Brita water filter for my home. I am looking at the kind that attaches to my kitchen faucet. Is there really anything that this can filter out of city water, besides the chlorine? I am just wondering if it will be worth spending the . I do not want to spend it, then find out that the water is already being filtered enough before it reaches my house.

aquativa systems based in bradley il. has been tring to get me to purchase a system. I want to get any impartial input i can.

This is a large residential location with about 10 people. I am searching for a filtration system for the whole house. tap water comes out at 320ppm, and they would like one filter to use fr everything, pool, showers, dishwasher, lawn… Are there any systems that drop the ppm through a filter without having a waste line? All i am hearing about is carbon filtration or water softening. They dont want water sofeteners.

stinky well water, the previous owners added a top of the line water filtration system, but the water still smells like rotten eggs and sulphur…yucky!! The well is only 150 feet deep, all of the of the neighbors wells are dug at least 300 to 500 feet deep and their water does not smell. So my question is this, can we just have someone dig the exisitng well deeper, or do we have to have a new well dug? thanks

I live in north central TN. My water is very hard and has significant buildup on faucets and the like. I travel alot and notice my skin clears up and hair cleans better when I am at other locations (different water).

I would like a WHOLE HOUSE solution. Water filtration (not sink/faucet/shower filters) and softeners. I want the best quality products for the best results and the least amount of space taken up in my garage and of course the lowest price.
