Definitely shut off the filter and any air pumps, and cover the tank with a towel. I've done this many times with my aquariums.

How big of a tank is it? If it is not too big to move, I would suggest moving the tank outside or to a friend's or neighbor's house until the problem is taken care of. With aquatic animals you want to go with the cautious approach. Some aquatic animals are adversely affected by even spraying perfume in the same room as their tanks. Hope you figure out what you are going to do so that your froggies will be OK.

No the fumes still can get in and kill your froggies. Also there maybe a chance of getting the stuff inside the tank which is harmful to animals.

edit if you do a water change of 50% before doing the roach thing then you can manover the aquarium easier. i tried to move a ten gallon aquarium back but it just spilled water all over my walls =(

I wouldn't suggest using those foggers, it can't possibly be good for your amphibs, I would probably just clean up whatever the ants are after and put ant traps around; I have had luck with that in the past without using foggers.
But if you must use it, remove the tank for sure. When you think about it, the fogger is designed to get into the hard to reach places and kill the ants, so putting a towel over the top would probably have no filtering effect what so ever for the harmful chemicals. If it was me I wouldn't risk it, but wither way I hope the frogs are OK
good luck.

I would highly recommend removing your tank before fogging your house. Frogs are extremely sensitive to any chemicals. Make sure you air out your house vey well before bringing them back in too.

try other types of ant and roach killer. they have terro ant killer that comes in a gel. you just put a dab at the location where the ants are coming in they will eat it and take it back to the nest and infect the nest killing off hundreds. if you spray anything there is a chance that the fumes will get into your tanks and kill whatever pets you have. i myself would not take that chance. I have an ant problem to up here in Wisconsin and the gel is how I am fighting them. remember it will take a few days to kill them. good luck
