125g minimum.... 150g better.Length X width more important than depth.
Best filtration (other than a properly sized sump) would be canister filters turning a minimum of 5X the tank volume hourly.
No more than two Oscars... but on off chance you do more,NO odd numbers with them, and size tank accordingly.
Test kit required, and using it a must.... 30% bi-weekly? Hmmm... let testing set the rate and frequency. Always nitrates 10 or less is what you are shooting for (especially with a Pike species present).

me like u bossman!

your current set up and how you take care of it sounds perfect. you just know as well as i that those fish will need bigger tanks soon.

125 and up. if you where going to put 2 Oscars with a pike, and wanted 2 others i recomend no smaller than 125 and that even maybe too small.

i have a 140 gallon tank that is 7 feet long. i have a 7" pike, 1 6" red terror, 1 5" jaguar cichlid, 1 5" snook, 3 6" bass, 1 4" catfish and a little brazilian pleco in the tank. now, i plan on getting rid of the bass when they get 16" or so and keeping the rest.. my tank is full. i have a 30 gallon sump that runs between 900 and 1100 gallons per hour with an external pump. i have to do weekly water changes at 40-50% due to the high volume of waste not to mention the smell of the water after a week...lol

i dig your plans. these types of fish are wicked to own and watch. even with the hard work of maintaning a lage aquarium i am way satisfied of the results.

if you ever have questions or wanna see pictures of my set up donr hesitate to contact me. my info for contact is on my profile.
