Can I drink my 8 glasses of water a day from the water coming from my kitchen faucet?
It feels so foreign to me to drink water straight from my kitchen faucet. My mom boils AND filters our water every day. I am having trouble getting my 8 glasses a day because the fridge I have at home does not have the water part and I use to have that in my old house and I use to drink like almost 2 gallons a day. My skin was perfect and I had an easier time maintaining my weight. Now that I don’t have that fridge, I probably drink 2-3 glasses of pure water a day! is it okay if I start drinking from the tap? My skin is still clear mostly but I have small blemishes and it just does not glow the same, and my weight has fluctuated. Let me know. The water website for my county goes over the filtration system and its pretty impressive but I am so unsure since I was not raised to drink water this way.

You don’t need to drink 8 glasses of water a day. That theory was debunked a long time ago. Drink when you’re thirsty is now the guideline.

Tap water has been filtered anad is usually chlorinated. The thing that keeps most people from drinking thier tap water is taste. If taste is an isse buy a water filter pitcher to keep in your fridge.
Well water is just fine to drink as well and does Not contain e-coli as the poster above me suggested. (That person knows nothing).
I grew up drinking well water, adn never got sick from it, and I now drink tap. It has to be humn safe for the city to put it in the water lines.
sigh…
I want to smack half the people who responded and who are going to respond
if you live in the us, the water that comes from the tap contains miniscule ammounts of chlorine so bacteria is virtually 100% eliminated
it ALSO contains flouride which will protect your teeth from plaque and sugars and other bad stuff
it has been filtered so many times that particles less than a micron are even removed, boiling actually ADDS stuff to the water(unless you boil it in a immaculate glass pot)
I personally will choose tap water over bottled(i personally will re-use a water bottle with tap water repeatedly)
Unless you are VERY delicate and sensitive, tap water will not be a problem. If you DO have a problem with it, you could always stop.
too many bacteria in faucets… but when you boil it, it removes bacteria.. when you have a well, you need a filter to drink out of it( though most wells contain ecolai (spell?)).. public water can also be unhealthy depending where the water passes through to get there ( through graveyards for example)… if your that worried, get your water tested
