Comment posted Can I drink my 8 glasses of water a day from the water coming from my kitchen faucet? by Frogz.

sigh…
I want to smack half the people who responded and who are going to respond
if you live in the us, the water that comes from the tap contains miniscule ammounts of chlorine so bacteria is virtually 100% eliminated
it ALSO contains flouride which will protect your teeth from plaque and sugars and other bad stuff
it has been filtered so many times that particles less than a micron are even removed, boiling actually ADDS stuff to the water(unless you boil it in a immaculate glass pot)
I personally will choose tap water over bottled(i personally will re-use a water bottle with tap water repeatedly)

  • You don’t need to drink 8 glasses of water a day. That theory was debunked a long time ago. Drink when you’re thirsty is now the guideline.

  • Tap water has been filtered anad is usually chlorinated. The thing that keeps most people from drinking thier tap water is taste. If taste is an isse buy a water filter pitcher to keep in your fridge.

Well water is just fine to drink as well and does Not contain e-coli as the poster above me suggested. (That person knows nothing).

I grew up drinking well water, adn never got sick from it, and I now drink tap. It has to be humn safe for the city to put it in the water lines.

  • Unless you are VERY delicate and sensitive, tap water will not be a problem. If you DO have a problem with it, you could always stop.
  • too many bacteria in faucets… but when you boil it, it removes bacteria.. when you have a well, you need a filter to drink out of it( though most wells contain ecolai (spell?)).. public water can also be unhealthy depending where the water passes through to get there ( through graveyards for example)… if your that worried, get your water tested

  • I'm pregnant and need a natural remedy for earaches, sore throat, and head aches?
For earaches, gently warm some olive oil and put a few drops in the ear. Then put some cotton in your ear to keep the oil in and keep drafts out of your ear.. (My mom used to do this when we were little; it does work.)
For a sore throat, gargle with warm salt water. That’s pretty standard.
You could try cologne or rubbing alcohol on your temples. As it evaporates, it creates a cooling effect. Ask your doctor if you can take ibuprofen (why would you need children’s?)

oh bummer. Well i’m a natural health practictioner, so hopefully these ideas help you. :)

for headaches…rubbing peppermint oil on your temples (and gently massaging it in.) and also on your neck, right on the bottom of your hairline. Rub it in. That should take it away. if not, open a Cayanne fruit capsul and get a few little specks of powder on your finger and sniff it into your nose and keep sniffing until you can’t feel it in your nose anymore. the Cayenne opens the blood capilaries in your head–which are what causing the headach–ending your headache.

for your ear aches…poke a scentless garlic gel capsul and squeeze it into your ear right before bedtime. Its scentless, so it won’t stink–but it will help. If you don’t want to do that, peel a garlic clove, and just put the clove in your ear (don’t push it in, just rest it in your ear hole)

as far as throat goes…gargle with salt water, lots of vitamin c and also, if you are brave enough…chew a garlic clove.

    I hope this helps!

Walgreens sells homeopathic ear drops that are supposed to reduce ear pain but I don’t know if they are meant to be used during pregnancy. I used it and my kids are fine, but I have also read that garlic oil can help with earaches and infections. For sore throats you can get throat lozenges that are natural, also hot tea helps mine. Or gargle with salt water. Warm baths can help with headaches as can putting your hands in HOT water.
  • My fish tank smells like a sewer?
You have alot bigger problem than you think….

You’ve got anerobic bacteria (dead spots) in the gravel probably with high detris (fish poop and rotting food left over food) aswell.

This creates a very low oxygen environment and releases alot of poisons into the water.

Search Hydrogen Sulfide in fish tank

That tank gravel needs to be really cleaned and stirred up badly or those fish will be dead soon.

Forgetting the carbon was the best thing you could have done as it was masking this major problem.

This can happen if you feed live foods etc..as uneaten bits sink into the gravel and have a huge potential to pollute.

    Plus 2 Oscars create a huge bio-load for a 55 gallon.

    good luck!!!!

since you forgot the filter that contained coarbon maybe thats why
