some say that it can desalinate salt water like in reverse osmosis
and some say that it is used in osmosis
i dont understand . both osmosis and reverse osmosis process molecules pass through medium.
you are saying that it cant be used for oth processes which contradict from many of the articles from internet.

10 gallon water changes?
How often would you do water changes and gravel cleaning in a ten gallon tank with 4 platies and a small peacock eel?
I now do 20% changes weekly and change the carbon inthe filter about every three weeks. is this good? should i do more or should i do less?
I also have a small 5 gallon hex with one betta, oto catfish, and 2 ghost shrimp, i have been doing 20% changes weekly and the cartridge about every month for the last 3 or so months and they have been fine.

how come would be water of reverse osmosis become acidic,is it true?

I have a EHEIM Professional II 2126 Canister Filter. It is for my 55 gal salt water tank. I have 50 pounds of Live rock and 50 pounds of live sands. Also have a protein skimmer. about 8 fishes 50 tank cleaners (snails, hermit crab, star fish and shirmp). Probably some corals later. What media should I put in my canister filter? EHFIMECH, EHFISUBSTRAT, and carbon filter pads? what else? or what is better for my tank?

hi,doea anyone know what alkaline water is?i've come across recipes that need alkaline water..?

I`m going to petsmart in a little bit to take care of some fish needs and need some more of that kind of stuff.

Also, what on earth is HBH Aqua-Pure ammonia reducer? A friend of my dads gave us a 40 or 50 gal tank along with the setup, all the fish products, basically 00 worth of stuff. This product was included and I have no idea how to use it. I dont need to use it yet, but it would be a good idea to know how to.

It says to place rinsed zeolite granules in aqua-pure filter media bad of other filtration equipment. What does that mean?
No it isnt new. The previous owner had the tank for several years. She got rid of it because she was moving and didnt have enough room for it. There was only one fish left but it died.
