Lot is in a gated country club community on a fairway overlooking the mountains. I want to be sure the builder follows IRC 2006 (formerly IRC 2003) international building standards. Some questions:

1. Do I need to provide a copy of this to the builder or will they already have it AND do Mexican builders already follow these?

2. How can I be sure all the I’s are dotted and T’s are crossed BEFORE they start building? (After all, I can’t just assume that they’ll put an electrical outlet every 6 feet, or that they’ll use GFCI, or that they’ll pre-wire the media room in the right spots – sounds like a HECK of a lot of things to think about!)

3. What is the least expensive whole-house water purification system?

4. Would my spouse (or my kids if she pre-deceases me) inherit the home and the lot (e.g. THEY are U.S. & Mexican Citizens, I am simply a U.S. citizen)?

5. Anybody have experience with mortgages there (e.g. interest rates, terms, conditions, etc.)?

it is 40 litre tank with 6 fish and the filter is JBL i80 with ceramic & carbon inside, i am curently changing apx 20% of the water every 2 weeks. Is it a good idea to invest in a gravel vac?

Hi,
I recently upgraded my aquarium from a 25 gallon to a 45 gallon. I’ve had it running for over a week & I’ve been doing daily waster tests. My nitrates & nitrites are still high & my fish are stressed. I only have about 10 one inch length fish & 2 dwarf frogs so I know I have lots of room & haven’t over stocked. One of my filters is brand new & the other is only a month old, both with carbon filters. I only feed once a day or once every 2 days with frozen blood worms, flake food & occasioanlly algae wafers. I have algae eating fish & no goldfish. Plus all my gravel is new.
I’ve already done a 25-50% water change & my levels are still high. I asked my local aquarium store & they said to do a water change every day for 1-2 weeks. Water changes stress my fish so I was wondering if anyone knew of any other ways & once I get my nitrates/nitrites levels down how I can keep them down?

I just set up an aquarium using 50/50 RO/DI water and the RO/DI waste water so there was some phos to begin with but I swear nothing I do seems to get it down to exceptable levels so i was wondering what else might be causing problems. Any advice for lowering Phos? Specific products, etc.,particularly for saltwater? I have 1 saltwater eel & that tank is out of control, I need to start over it’s so bad.

I found my old silver & amethyst ring at the bottom of my jewelry box and I don’t have any silver cleaner/polish…. whatever it is you’re supposed to use.

It seems like I watched this show once where this woman poured water softener into a foil-lined pan and put her silver in it for cleaning. ‘Cause I remember trying to find a "water softener" to buy and all I could find was big whole-house softening or filtration equipment. And I started to wonder if regular laundry liquid fabric softener would do the same thing?

Anything…. I just need some way of getting the tarnish off and shining my ring up.. Thx in advance! =D

We have approximately a 1/4 acre pond that has both algae and a black bottom that I suppose is caused by debris from leaves & fish excrement. I have tried Aqua Pure algae Control but it did not help. I rake our the algae weekly but it keeps coming back. I was told the pond needs bacteria. The pond is aerated and has a water fall so the water is moving. Please help.

I recently had a service rep from the number 1 company in my region come out and do an estimate on my home. First of all let me say that my home is in major need of a complete heating and cooling upgrade. I have an oil furnace that is 30 years old and is at 70% efficiency. I am on 15 year old window A/C units and my hot water heater is 20 years old. My home is a row home of roughly 950 square feet and was built in 1944. I live right outside of the Philadelphia area so it gets pretty cold in the winter. Here is what the estimate includes off the top of my head. Please let me know if these seems right for my house.
