I asked my vet and she had never heard of a cat obsessed with charcoal. I have a filter in the water fountain that we had to tape down and even now he spends hours trying to lift the lid. It was the same when I got the covered litter box and it had a filter, I just don’t bother with that one. And he goes after the fish tank filter, leaves the fish completely alone. We had to move the barbeque brickets off the patio, because he got into those when we took him out on his leash.
Does anybody else have a cat like this?
Is he missing something from his diet, or is he just attracted to the smell or something?
I should mention that the first time he did get the fountain filter, he did not eat it he just played with it, before I could get it from him.

Has anyone heard of people getting a real bad taste in their mouth from drinking the water, I brush and floss daily and I do not think I have any gum problems, it just seems strange that since I started of a regimented diet of only drinking Alkaline water that this bad taste has become evident, it seems to permeate from my tongue.

I will say this, that my diabetes if finally under control from drinking the water.

Sooooo, i just got a new betta (crown tail), and he has been living at my house for about 30 hours. He is the sole occupant of a betta cube (1/2 gallon or 2L), which i bought as a "Marina Betta Kit". He has eaten a bit, i dont really expect him to eat much in the first days, but food was offered, and a couple flakes are left on the bottom of the cube uneaten… i have prior expirience with fish, as i have a successful 10 gallon tank running with some gouramis, and corydoras catfish.

Ok, now, i have some concerns:

1) I have heard that when bettas are stressed they tend to have horizontal lines on their bodies…mine DOES TOO!!! Should i be consered, or is it a thing for the first few days while he gets accustomed to his new home?(pls explain)

2) He is active…not very, but i know bettas tend to be sluggish at times…he swims around slowly, looks at everything, dips down to snatch some morsel off the gravel…chases his tail…sometimes comes up to the top. And when i come around, he shies away, but then comes out to investigate. Is there ANYTHING in that behavior that may consern you????

3) What would a healthy betta act like?Give me any things that could suggest illness…

4) He is in a 1/2 gallon cube that has some gravel at the bottom, 2 shoots of hornwort plant, and three pebbles. (The kit that i got for him is called the " Marina betta kit", so i am infering that all is right with the size, contents and the fact that there is no filtration, or heating…he is in a well heated room, away from drafts). So, is that all good?

5) Water changes for that small cube tank would be good twice a week or once?

6) I have some bloodworms that i feed to my other fish, should i supplement his diet with those? His normal food say that it contains bloodworm meal…so are the extra bloodworm necessary…or does all betta food contain bloodworm meal?

Thank you very much for any help you can give, TEN POINTS to anyone who can answer the best!!!

Help my poor fish keep dying.I have a 200lt tropical tank set up with the required heating and filtration system. It houses 6 zebra dandeos, 2 barbs, 4 guppies& 2 gouramies. I use aquarium salt and do a third water change every two weeks using water conditioner every time. However my fish keep dying at what is an alarming rate.(At least one a week) They have a healthy varied diet of flakes an live food.I have noticed a day before they die there scales develop this dull sheen and they quieten right down. Please help my poor fishies?
Sorry, forgot to mention that have had fin rot before and this is nothing like it. Fish are relatively untouched when they die, no sign of rot or any deteoration aside from the dull scales
N.B. Am only using a very small amount of aquarium salt(not the same as a salt water tank)as advised by our local aquarium as this is how the fish had been kept up untill we purchased them. I understand that a tropical tank is one that has a temperature that must be maintained as opposed to a salt water tank (which contains salt water fish )
Tank has been set up for two years and the fish dying has only happened in the last month
