The most popular faucet filter in US (e.g. Brita, PUR) mainly use active carbon as the filtering material, which can only remove chlorine and the odor but not all the bacteria in the water. Although the tap water quality in US is very good in quality already, there still exist some bacteria and chemical which is harmful to human body. If a faucet filter can filter these harmful cyst or chemical but with a higher price, say, -, would you buy it?

Need the faucet for this model of osmosis system

Hi. I have searched far and wide but still can’t seem to find exactly what I want. I would like an under sink water filter. It must fit in a 20" high cabinet. It must be full flow rate or at least not severely retard the flow of water as it will be used as a regular cold tap. It must be fitted in line with the cold water service. It must not require me to bore a hole in my counter top, I don’t want a separate faucet next to my sink. It must meet NSF standards 42 and 53. Activated carbon is fine as reverse osmosis is overkill. Thanks!

My husband and I opted to purchase a new water filtration system for our new home in early May. A company came to our house, was very pushy at selling the unit and gave us a great deal……no payments until February 2011 and they will make the 7 payment until then for us. We asked to think it over and once again they offered to lower the cost and we said why not. They installed the unit the very next day. We had some troubles trying to get financed by their lending company and had to jump lots of hurdles along the way, but thought it was all done and over since we hadn’t heard from the company in over 3 weeks. Well we received a visitor from the company stating they had to amend the contract and get another finance company involved. We were furious since the deal was no longer offered and they said our first payment was due in September now. I was so upset I told this guys to get out of our home and we will call the owner to discuss further what our options are. Now, the unit is installed and attached to our house. We also had a unit attached under our sink with an extra spigot near the existing faucet. If they uninstall, it will leave a hole in my sink where that spigot was. Are they obligated to fix that? What are my options here? Can anyone please offer their advise. We are first time homeowners and don’t know if it’s worth getting an attorney involved. Please help!

I just moved and couldn’t hook up my water filter to the new house’s faucet because I didn’t have the right adapter. I have now bought the adapter, and hooked it up. I’m just wondering, since I didn’t flush it prior to moving, it’s had water sitting in the chamber for a couple of weeks. Would that water, sitting over the charcoal and stuff int he filter, cause it to go bad, or even begin to spread bacteria?

so the doctor told us we could start giving my 9 week old son water but i was wondering what type of water should i give him. for his formula i use the gerber pure water that comes in gallon. i was wondering if i could give him the gerber pure water directly? water from the faucet that should be boiled? or water from our kitchens water filter?

also i dont want to give him more water then what i am suppose to. so at 9 weeks how much oz. of water should i be giving him?
my sons dr. said it was ok for him to drink water especially because he suffers from constipation. also my mother and other family members gave their kids water when they were babies and there was never a problem. they would give them an ounce during each feeding.

Home brewing purest will either typically boil all water used for home brewing. I know some use filters that attach to the faucet and others use bottled water (which I’m convinced is just tap water). Will water purification tablets work without adding a odd flavor to the beer?
ok, anyone have a more thorough answer than ‘yes’?

My RO system is 9 years old. The storage tank had worked well and provides plenty drinking water at the faucet until recently. It now gives only 5 oz water before the pressure diminish to zero and no water flows out. I have replaced the filter cartridges yearly. What’s wrong?

I know that it takes the H2O from the faucet or where-ever. There is carbon in it that catches the bad things or Elements in the water. But what is the scientific way?

cuz seems that water from the faucet still has traces of aluminum. Does the alkaline ionized water help? Do i hav to buy water from the supermarket – distilled or mineral or filtered and then do something to it? I heard ceramic filters are expensive and bothersome, but is that the only way to drink SAFE WATER??
