Examples of filtration systems are the faucet mounted filters and even the pitchers? Also full house filters etc etc. Recently, many movies have used the infected water supply to spread a chemicals, biotoxins, and the like and they somehow get through the typical water treatment facilities even though the source is infected rather then a point of contamination AFTER treatment. (probably just a flaw in Hollywood’s logic)
Terry you’re an idiot. While the person is doing that they’ll get arrested.

If the hype about climate change/global warming is true and that there is a shortage of water, then why are we using water we could be drinking in our toilets?

I know there would be a large cost to go with the new pipes, filtration systems, etc… but why is it that politicians are telling us spending money should not be an issue for going green, like paying extra for energy efficient products, but it’s an issue if they have to spend money that could save an average of 34,000 gallons of fresh water per household.

But no, the only way for us to save our planet and people dying of thirst is to accept taxes and re-purchase everything in our house to get slightly more efficient.
My source on the water usage was off. I believe 27,000 Liters per year is correct.
Why can’t we use a separate pipe system for toilets that can handle saltwater? It’s not like we don’t have the means to do it, it would just cost a good deal of money and would take a lot of work.

Are we trying to save the planet or what, if the government is not willing to look into these alternative water sources that can save huge amounts of people that are dying of thirst, how am I suppose to take them seriously and blindly follow them in there climate change scheme.

The problem isn’t that they cannot do it, it’s that they don’t want to do it.

any recommendations of whole house conditioner/ filtration systems?

I work for a bottled water company which also installs filtration systems ranging from whole-house systems and point-of-entry to point of use to undercounter units. A customer recently asked about a whole-house system which would be located underground between his home and the city water main, however, even on a Web search we’ve been unable to find anything like this, and our operations manager cannot recall seeing anything that meets these specifications at any of the trade shows or training sessions he has attended. Is there anyone out there who either has a system like this or works with systems like these, and could point me in the right direction? The man actually said his neighbor has one…but we think he may be mistaken as to what his neighbor has.

My parents moved into a townhouse community a while ago, and when I've gone to visit, I've found they have a lot of water problems. Aside from the pressure being low, which is merely an inconvenience, the water tastes and smells dirty and very fishy. Cooking with it alters the taste of meals, and using one or two blocks of ice ruins a whole drink. Sometimes even the dishes and clothes have a slight odour after being washed. Occasionally I've turned on the tap to see the water coming out brown, enough that the sinks have to be scrubbed to remove residue. The townhouse community was only built about 5 years ago, and it all runs the local water supply.

I've installed water purification on the taps, but I've recently discovered that it's possible to buy whole house filtration systems. I have no idea how to go about researching these. Does anyone have experience with them? How are they, cost-wise? Are they worth the investment? Do they require a lot of construction, maintenance, etc?
Any other opinions or advice about finding out why the water is so problematic, dealing with the problems, and/or water filtration would be appreciated.
