My sentences are not so smooth and flowy.

My house was built in the 50s with a koi pond on the front patio before koi ponds were trendy. There is no filtration or waterfall. The electric outlet outside the pond is broken. The only thing we have to filter the pond is a pipe in the pond that acts as a slow drain. There are 12 fish in the pond and they are very healthy. They’ve been there for 2 years and have had 3 babies. Even though I scrape the bottom of the pond for debris and skim the top once a week, the water is brown and murky. I add new water to keep the drain going and I use a water treater and a barley/health bacteria treatment. There is some minor algae build-up on the sides, but no plants. However, when it rained last week, the pond was clear for about 3 days. Why was the pond clear after it rained and how can I keep it clear?
I should clarify that there are 9 adult comet goldfish and 3 babies, not full-sized koi.
I watch my fish. They eat everything I feed them. Nothing (but their poop) drops to the ground.

Pond is more clear after it rains? How to keep it clear?

Ive heard of all methods of purifying water but none seem to specify that the water will be CHEMICAL free. For example if I was to distill ocean water that had been contaminated with petrolium, or rain water that is tainted with pollution. What method of filtration could be used to garantee pure drinkable water.
No stupid answers please. Like the first one.

Is reverse osmosis water harmful to our health if consumed for a long period ?

We don’t have to desalinate it, just a simple filtration would be sufficient. Would the salt water cause a wear and tear problem on the ceramic, the plubming or flushing devices if this is done? Would it not be cheaper to maintain and replace those instead of wasting purified water?

Why don't we route filtered sea water to toilet flushes instead of purified water?

My brother has a new 55 gallon corner tank. So it is tall and has a curved front big piece of glass. I know he did not give the nitrogen cycle enough time to build up before he added his fish. It was up for a day or two at 78 degrees with two above water filers, a 40 and a 20 on opposite walls.
He combined two tanks full of fish into this one, a 10 and a 20. about half of the guppies got wiped out by his angel fish within the first night.
Any how He got rid of his 10 gallon so now all he has is a 20 and his new 55 corner tank. He put his large angel back into his 20g because he wasnt looking to hot, had fun rot coming on from the new tank… He’s doing great now. And so are the rest of the fish in the Green 55 gallon. but he cant get the water to stop being green.
So my question is, should he try and remove as many fish as possible over to his 20, while he lets his 55’s nitrogen cycle establish? And will a under gravel water filter with a bunch of gravel on it help the situation in terms of water flow and filtration?
Right now there are about 15 little guppies, 1 cherry and tiger barb, and some kind of bottom feeding catfish(who looks fine). The tank is not next to a window, has nothing but ornaments on the bottom of it for now, a 75 gallon sponge filter, a couple bubble stones, and now the one 40 or 45 gallon above water filter. I was thinking a under gravel filter would really help with the flow and filtration a bit, all though i dont have any experiance with them, and niether do the people at the pet store. I know it goes under gravel, and connects to your air pump. and the carbon filter for it usually doesnt help with the water flow and is a insignificant source for carbon in the tank. Do i also need a power head thing? the ones you see at the petstores that blow bubbles?

Would a under gravel water filter help the Green water?

I purchased a house with a koi pond. I noticed that the water began to diminish quite quickly and I was having to fill up the pond more and more. As a novice koi owner I began to study the hobby and quickly found that water doesn’t evaporate that much and I had the worst issue on my hands…a pond leak. The pond is approximately 500 gallons and I recently had a pond rebuilder complete an estimate for a rebuild and expansion. I’m still waiting for the estimate and there is no telling when he will get out here to begin working on the job (he was the only one in town I could find). Upon cleaning the pond, we believe the pipes that run from the pump to the waterfall are cracked and that is where the water is leaking from. We fill the pond up at night and when we wake in the morning it has nearly depleted itself. We shut the pump off and the water level holds, but I know I cannot do this until the pond is rebuilt because koi need filtration and aeration. Does anyone have any suggestions on what to do with the fish until I can get the pond rebuilt? I have already lost three fish who somehow managed to get into the netting around the pump and I am devastated. I sure don’t want to lose anymore. Can I put them in a tub and buy a make shift pump/filter in the meantime? Thanks in advance for any advice!

Help, I'm struggling to keep my koi alive?

I just installed an RO water unit, and emptied it 3 times already. But when I drink the water, it tastes very different. Its actually not a very desirable taste for water. It tastes almost metallic like, any ideas?
Edit: the taste resembles Aquafina bottled water.
Edit: is there any way to get rid of this taste without having to use a different type of filtration.

Why does reverse osmosis water taste so different?

Tonight I had a RainSoft salesman stop by. It has the lifetime warranty, the coupon program, the 5 year supply of soaps, a UV light for the air handler, to kill bacteria. All for 95.

I got suckered in and signed some paperwork. I have the option of cancelling within 3 business days, and started to do my research and see it’s very expensive in comparison.

I am wanting to know what is recommended as far as quality, warranty, price and on going costs for a full-house filtration/softener.

I have a skin condition and want to try to use less soaps. I also want to try my best to keep within my budget and make sure that I’m not buying something that is so over priced that it won’t get a return like some of the other systems available.

I’ve seen some reviews about Kinetico and Culligan but I’m not sure what people’s experiences have been with these and the return in comparison to RainSoft.

Would it be best to get a test by a separate, local company and if so, what should I test for?

Can you provide me come guidance?

What is a recommended water softener/filtration system?
