I have a private well system here in Wasilla, AK and I am not happy with the water quality. I used a shower filter to remove chlorine etc when I lived in California but that is not the problem now. The water causes dry skin, tastes horrible and seems to have a lot of calcium and iron in it. I had some tests done and was offered a Water conditioner that uses polymer beads and a seperate system that uses reverse osmosis to filter and soften all of the water in the house. This will cost around 00 is that the best way to go or does anyone know of a better option? I do want to filter all of the water in the house for drinking, cooking, bathing laundry etc. Are there certain things I need to leave in the water for health reasons? Is it ok to strip the water of as many minerals etc as I can?

I found my old silver & amethyst ring at the bottom of my jewelry box and I don’t have any silver cleaner/polish…. whatever it is you’re supposed to use.
It seems like I watched this show once where this woman poured water softener into a foil-lined pan and put her silver in it for cleaning. ‘Cause I remember trying to find a "water softener" to buy and all I could find was big whole-house softening or filtration equipment. And I started to wonder if regular laundry liquid fabric softener would do the same thing?
Anything…. I just need some way of getting the tarnish off and shining my ring up.. Thx in advance! =D

I live in Minnesota (don’t know if that really matters for this question, but just in case you need to know for regulations or something on research), and I need to get my water purified! I am spending about /month for 1 gallon jugs of drinking water. My shower ( i have 3 full baths), toilets, and sinks get yellow with rust stains . My laundry turns yellow, even when I use bleach! What kind of purification system can I get that will filter my whole house and give me an under-the-sink drinking water system? I prefer something that is going to actually work and save me money. Does anyone know of anything? Thanks!

My wife and I just had a baby and we want better quality water for drinking, showering, laundry (less chlorinated and elimination of stuff like lead, etc). Possibly softer as well. We are limited in options because we are in a condo complex and our turn off valve is outside our garage. We already tried Lifesource Water Systems who sent a rep over and they couldn’t install a tank anywhere, so that ended up being fruitless. What are some other options I should consider? Thank you for your help.

We have horrible lime and calcium build up – very hard water. We want an entire water softner/filtration system.
Bottled water or attachments for the sink is not what I am talking about, it needs to be for laundry, showers, drinking, cooking, etc.
Please help!
