Alkalizing/Remineralizing Reverse Osmosis water ?
I am using a RO water filter right now. It takes out all the beneficial minerals in the water and turns the pH of the water to 4.5-5 which is quite acidic.

I have seen some filters that attach to RO units which release beneficial minerals into the water again which helps bring the pH back to around 7.0.

Does anyone know good filters, or other methods to help me increase the RO waters pH back to a neutral 7.0?

I’ve heard that drinking bottled water, usually the ‘pure’ brands, those that ate triple filtered by reverse osmosis etc. can lead to thus water actually removing minerals from your body. Supposedly due to osmosis, high concentration ( body) to low (water). Even if this was so, wouldn’t the water you drank that removed the minerals in the first place be absorbed by your body, and thus the minerals as well?

I have a private well system here in Wasilla, AK and I am not happy with the water quality. I used a shower filter to remove chlorine etc when I lived in California but that is not the problem now. The water causes dry skin, tastes horrible and seems to have a lot of calcium and iron in it. I had some tests done and was offered a Water conditioner that uses polymer beads and a seperate system that uses reverse osmosis to filter and soften all of the water in the house. This will cost around 00 is that the best way to go or does anyone know of a better option? I do want to filter all of the water in the house for drinking, cooking, bathing laundry etc. Are there certain things I need to leave in the water for health reasons? Is it ok to strip the water of as many minerals etc as I can?

As a result of praises heard about Fiji Water, my mom and i have not replaced the charcoal filters for processing the water in her house, and are buying expensive cases of the bottled stuff. Charcoal does not kill germs, from what i know, despite the fact that it does remove other refuse. I am also concerned that the charcoal will remove needed minerals like distilling does, which is very bad for the body. Anybody got the real dope on this stuff, especially concerning Fiji water?

I am wondering what the best water to drink is.

I have researched so much about distilled, spring, and drinking water and how bottled water that is basically tap water.

The processes such as reverse osmosis, Charcoal…etc.

I want PURE water. Water with no fluoride or anything else harmful and with its minerals. Every filter seems to have some problem with it whether it takes out important minerals or some that leaves in fluoride…etc

It seems that no one has this answer no matter how much I Research.

The ethanol was in a lined metal pail and the lot passed all purety inspections. The water used was well water filtered through 2 different carbon based filters to reduce the hardness. The anhydrous alcohol was poured into the water to make the 75% alcohol solution. I’ve never heard of alcohol forming a precipitate with minerals in water. The technical expert for the alcohol manufacturer didn’t know what the precipitate might be but suggested that possibly something in the water was reacting with something that dissolved into the alcohol from the coating on the inside of the metal pail. Any suggestions about the nature of the precipitate?

I went shopping with some friends.

They bought bottled water and I joked with them about how they don’t drink from the tap.

They basically said the bottled water is cleaner and different from the tap…so they drink from the bottled water most of the time and the sink every once in a while. (They use Brita with the sink, though).

So then I try to convince them that the Brita filtered water is the same crap as what’s in the bottles, and they believe me.

SO, I offer the idea of getting a stainless steel water bottle so they can take it to class with them (they got bottles so they can carry it to school) and I was like, "the bottle will last 1000 years so you never have to waste your money on the bottled water."

Know what they said? "Oh, but I don’t need something to last that long."

Look, the only two companies that have pure filtered water are Dasani and Aquafina. Dasani is reverse osmosis filtered water with minerals added, but Aquafina is reverse osmosis filtered with nothing added. (They didn’t understand reverse osmosis or the idea of added minerals).

Is it wrong for me to be bothered that the general population thinks just like they do and is wasting oil for these dang bottles of water?

Some say that certain minerals in the water are good for us, and using reverse osmosis is overkill in that it takes out almost everything including the good minerals. So now I’m in a dilemma

I only need a small water filter, counter top. I don’t know why I can’t make one, but it has been difficult to find information, instruction or ingredients.

I would think that carbon would be one ingredient. I want the water to taste better, and remove the bad minerals, and organisms. I don’t want to remove the good minerals.

I live in a high rise that is about 60 years old, and it uses city water. The city is on the shore of Lake Michigan.

I really don’t want to put a lot of money into buying a counter top water filter system, since I’m on Social Security, and have to cut costs as many ways as possible.

Some things I’ve learned in my searches, is that the carbon can become contaminated over time, and should be changed periodicly. I also learned that batting below the carbon can remove small pieces of the carbon. But, are there other ingredients I need, and how do I build it?

I have heard about this technique from a marketing executive. I want to know is drinking this water good for health. I have heard that it takes out all the minerals from the water but dont you think these minerals are necessary for the body. Please advise.
