I’ve tested a few different bottled waters… poland spring, deer park, and generic "spring" waters. I used an aquarium ph test kit. The "spring" water comes up very low on the ph scale somewhere between 4 and 6. My tap water comes up either basic or slightly alkaline. Since I started having heartburn and reflux, I figured it might be from the acidity of all the bottled I was drinking so I switched back to tap. I know that a slightly alkaline system is more desirable and most disease and cancers can’t exist in an alkaline environment.

Does anyone know if acidic drinking water alters your body chemistry and if it is worse for you to drink alkaline tap or acidic bottled water.

We have a 10 gallon fresh water fish tank which we have had since December. We have several guppies and an algae eater in the tank. There have been no problems until now. In the last 2 weeks, the water has turned very cloudy and green. The water is testing fine by both our strips and the store’s tests. We have performed 40% water changes every 3 days at the suggestion of the store where we purchased the tank. We started to use a tap water conditioner and "Cycle" with every water change, but nothing is working. It is not in direct sunlight, we are very careful with the feedings and we have vacuumed the rocks and cleaned the glass and plants with each water change. We have a carbon filter in the tank and a heater. My daughter is upset she can no longer see her fish and, quite frankly, it looks disgusting. I have followed all of the suggestions given with no success. Anyone got any new ideas?

It is bottled at source in Lennoxtown (Scotland) and is very soft and very pure and our tap water is piped from Loch Lomond and Loch Katrine and filtered to pure H2O before entering our homes so can be drunk straight from the tap. Why should it expire if it has been around for billions of years???

My water tap water tastes like pure chlorine, i got a brita filter which helps a little, but still tastes like chlorine, is there anything that will get rid of that chlorine after taste? is it healthy having water that tastes like that?

I saw a water filter system in someone’s house a few years ago that was homemade and cannot remember how they said they made it. I remember there was some shiny stones – looked like they were polished but not fancy – on the bottom of a plastic water container. She said, if memory serves, that they were using a filter for an aquarium containing carbon and chunky rocks bought at the store. They said they filled it with the tap water. The siggot was on the bottom and the used it for their coffee, ice cubes and drinking water. She said they simply changed the filter once per month and cleaned the rocks. My questions are these: has anyone ever heard of such a homemade system? If so, what type of filter is she talking about? Is the 1 x per month accurate? Is is safe to use as I have small children in my home? Thank you in advance for your assistance.

Is ionized water the same as tap water? If not what is it and how do you get ionized water ? Hope you can help :) x

I have a ceramic water dispenser and I have a 5 gallon plastic jug; a couple days after I fill it up the water starts tasting funky. Everytime I refill it, I clean it and bleach it out. What’s the best recommendation? I’ve used Brita filters and the tap water still tastes weird. I’m tired of spending money on water bottles.
I live in Las Vegas and so the tap water is HORRIBLE.

the reason I am asking is that tap water makes me feel queasy, and an acquaintance of mine of technical persuasion told me not to drink
activated charcoal filtered water … so I am researching others for their opinions and experiences…
